Nasibah Year 5/6 camp

Did you know that we had our school year 5 & 6 camp on the 8th of march till 10th of march. This is the best part of term 1.

Camp is basically sleeping in a tent and trying out heaps of different activities. Our wonderful staff Ms Squires, Mrs N

ua and some other students set our tents on our school fields along with a big tent.  As part of our activities we had Kayaking, Killzone, Get Lost, Riding on the bike track, Swimming, Youth Town.

My favourite part was the concert night because we had a lot of fun and my team Presidents had won. What i also liked was swimming at the Mangere pools because we got to go on the slide the normal pools and the bombing pool.

Big ups to Haare, Ms Nua, Ms Squires, Mrs Flavelle, Miss Takerei along with the team 4 staff. I have loved coming camp with the wonderful teachers that take care of me. Thank  you very much.

I learnt how to take care of myself for 2 nights and 3 days. Ii recommend that everyone should go  camping if you get an opportunity to, trust  me you will have unforgettable memories and heaps of interesting experience. I cannot wait till our year 6 kawau island camp at the end of the year.

Nasibah Native Bird

W.A.L.T: we are learning to write persuasively.

What are some native birds around tamaki? It would be great if we could have some more native birds around tamaki so we can find out more about birds

I think that there should be more of Toutouwai Native Bird in New Zealand because i would like to know some of the features and beauty of Toutouwai.

I would also love to see some Takahe because i have never heard of this bird and i would like to find some of its habitats and it behavior much more.

I want less of these seagulls because segal's have this bad habit of ripping rubbish bags.  So i would rather have some more different birds.

I would rather like to see more native birds than Non - Native birds. That is why tamaki needs more native bird.

W.A.L.T : write an Recount.

Did you know that our teacher Mr Goodwin is a very crazy teacher. Today he told us to line up we are going to do something lame and fast so we put on our shoes and lined up outside our classroom. Unintentionally he now tells us to line up along the goal post.

At this minute he says GO! and I stood there for 10 seconds and then I went running i thought in my head why do teachers to this. On my way back I had tripped over a piece of rock I said “ I have had better experience than this cleaning my house and doing chores was better. After all everybody was lying on the grass and breathing like a bunch of sumo wrestlers puffing.

When I had tripped over all my thoughts had fallen out of my head and I was not confident to do my recount any more I was exhausted.  I think that my teacher has come back from Thailand and gotten far to crazy.

I would never want to do this again i have had enough of running already. Mr Goodwin if you are reading this please calm down that would be so nice.

Task Description: today Our teacher told us to line up along the goal post and he told us the instructions that we had to run to the other goal post and back.

Bird identification

Walt: make connections across multiple texts

today my task was to identify these 4 different type of birds that i have written about and if you see carefully maybe you can find a link to a website.

Newspaper tower

Have you ever constructed a Tower before? Well today I came to knowing that it will be a normal day. But when I come in class I saw my teacher sorting out newspapers,  That seemed a little weird. I was kind of convinced of what we were going to do.

When we were being told about the experience I was so excited. I had overfull of ideas in my mind I could not wait to explode those ideas out of my mind. My teacher ( Mr Goodwin ) was telling us instructions but I did not bother listening I was far too busy.

When we got to plan it I turned out that  none of my ideas exploded. When it was my turn Bethan would get frustrated and she would say nobody listens to  me and i would give my turn to her all the time.

But finally at last me and my group mix and matched all of our ideas and came with 1 plan.

As we were constructing the newspaper tower  we made a platform and then we tried to stick all the bits and pieces but it just wouldn't work. We tried different ways we scrunched up newspaper but it would just fall down and we couldn’t  stand it.

I would have to say that next time I would rather write about the weekends to be honest.
